Buy From Discogs. Any Seller, Anywhere in the World.
Discogs is the biggest marketplace for vinyl, CDs, and cassettes anywhere — and its sellers are genuinely global, listing from wherever in the world the record happens to be. That's the appeal and the catch: wherever the one-of-a-kind pressing you want is sitting, getting it to the US depends on whether that particular seller has set up their shipping for it.
Plenty ship worldwide without a second thought. Others restrict their shipping to their own country or continent, and the listing simply shows "Unavailable in your country" to a US buyer — no checkout button, no workaround from here. And every purchase has to go through Discogs' own required checkout, regardless of where the seller is — there's no negotiating a different payment method once you've found a seller willing to sell to you.
How It Works
- 1
You send us the listing and your budget. Paste the Discogs link, wherever in the world the seller is — if it's already showing "unavailable in your country," tell us that, it's exactly the case we handle.
- 2
We check the seller's shipping settings. Many sellers ship to the US directly. If not, we check whether we have a receiving address in that seller's own country or region — we have receiving points in multiple countries, including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and more. If we have a match, buying from there usually unlocks the listing. If we don't, we look at the closest country in our network or check directly with the seller about other options, and tell you honestly if it's genuinely not possible.
- 3
We complete the purchase through Discogs' own checkout, from whichever address makes the listing work — the same way any verified buyer would.
- 4
It's received at whichever of our facilities matches the address we bought from. Inspection is available if you want it — just ask, and we'll confirm the condition grade matches the listing (M/NM/VG+, etc.) and check for obvious damage before it ships. If you skip this, it goes straight to packing.
- 5
We pack it — standard protective packaging for records, reinforced for anything more fragile — then weigh it and send you a separate invoice for shipping. That's billed separately from your original quote, since it depends on the actual weight and size once it's packed.
- 6
Once that's paid, we ship it to your US address, usually via DHL, in about 7–14 days. That's a typical range, not a guarantee.
- 7
Customs duties are paid on delivery, and we provide the customs paperwork. This is charged by the carrier when your package arrives, not something we prepay or fold into our quote.
Pricing
Our service fee is 8–15% of the item's price, with a $20 minimum, on top of what you pay for the item — the exact rate depends on the specifics, so you'll see the real number on your quote. Shipping and packaging are billed separately once we know the actual weight and size (see step 5) — they're not part of this quote.
If it doesn't go through:
- The listing turns out to be genuinely unreachable — no country in our network unlocks it and the seller won't make an exception — or the deal falls through before we've paid — nothing is charged, including our service fee.
- Cancel after we've already purchased it on your behalf — we refund whatever we can recover from the sale; our service fee isn't refunded, since the sourcing work is already done.
- The item turns out to be un-exportable, or customs rejects it — we refund the purchase price minus any costs already incurred, and tell you exactly what those were.
Refunds go back through Stripe to your original payment method, typically 5–10 business days. Shipping and packaging fees are refundable until the parcel is dispatched — once it's with the carrier, they're not.
What We Buy
We focus on vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes on Discogs — vintage pressings, out-of-print runs, and anything else where the condition grade matters and you can't just reorder if something goes wrong, no matter which country the seller is in.
Why This Works
Wherever in the world the seller is, we check their actual shipping settings before you commit to anything, and buy from whichever of our receiving countries matches theirs — so it looks like a normal sale to them. When there's no match, we tell you honestly instead of taking your money for something we can't deliver.
FAQ
The seller has set their shipping to exclude the US — sometimes to their own country only, sometimes to their continent. That's a setting the seller chose, not something broken on Discogs' end.
Not always. If we have a receiving address in the seller's own country or region, buying from there usually works. If we don't have a match there and the seller won't make an exception, it's genuinely not available, and we'll tell you that honestly before you pay anything.
We check the closest country in our network, or ask the seller directly about other options. If neither works, we'll tell you honestly rather than take your money for something we can't deliver.
Through Discogs' own required checkout — every sale on the platform goes through the same process, regardless of who's buying.
We check that the condition matches the listing's stated grade and look for obvious damage, but we don't do a deeper authentication or run a functional playback test.
Credit or debit card, Alipay, or WeChat Pay, all through Stripe's hosted checkout. For large or unusual orders, we may arrange a wire transfer instead.
If it turns out to be significantly not as described, we'll step in and communicate with the original seller on your behalf. Any return depends on that seller's own policies — sales are considered final once we've purchased on your behalf, return shipping is your responsibility, and we can't guarantee the outcome.
Shipping alone typically runs 7–14 days once we have the item.
