Neuheit 2026: Mit dem Vectron Dual Mode präsentierte Siemens Mobility 2019 eine Zweikraftlokomotive, die sowohl über einen Dieselmotor als auch über eine Hochspannungsausrüstung zur Stromabnahme aus der Oberleitung verfügt. Auf diese Weise sind die Maschinen nicht auf den Fahrdraht angewiesen und können über das gesamte Einsatzspektrum flexibler und ressourcenschonender eingesetzt werden. Siemens bietet die Lokomotiven in zwei Varianten an: der in Deutschland als BR 248 bezeichnete Vectron Dual Mode und der als BR 249 geführte Vectron Dual Mode light.
