From the maker
In a bay window caboose, the crew monitoring the train sits in the middle of the car in a section of wall that projects from the side of the caboose. This caboose design allowed for a better view of the side of the train and eliminated the falling hazard of the cupola. The bay window gained favor with many railroads because it eliminated the need for additional clearances in tunnels and overpasses. Bachmann Bay Window Cabooses come in a variety of colors and road names. Features Include: • Detailed, painted bodies with precision graphics. • Roadname specific window designs and arrangements, including three bay window styles. • Separately applied smokestack, railings and brake wheels. • Clear windows. • Detailed underbody with separately applied brake system details. • Added weight for optimum tracking. • Magnetically operated E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers. • Detailed trucks with see-through sideframes. • Blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours. • Product Measurements: L 5.5 in., W 1.5 in., H 2 in. • Separately applied ladders and see-through etched roofwalk, where applicable per prototype. • Retail Package Measurements: L 7.4 in., W 1.6 in., H 3.4 in.
