USRA 0-6-0 & Slope Tender - B&O #338

From the maker

With production beginning in 1918, the USRA 0-6-0 was one of a selection of locomotives designed by the United States Railroad Administration during the brief period in World War 1 when the US rail network was nationalized under government ownership. Classified as a light switcher, the type saw widespread success in both light freight and yard duties, and many railroads went on to run these plucky workhorses for several decades, once the rail system was turned back to the original operators. Bachmann's USRA 0-6-0 features realistic detail and an operating smoke unit. Features include: • Authentic USRA standard design • Electrically isolated motor for DCC decoder installation • Precision motor • Completely hidden drivetrain • Operating puffing smoke unit (non-toxic smoke fluid included) • Operating headlight • Separately applied metal handrails • Highly detailed painted bodies with precision graphics • Detailed tenders with one of three authentic designs (Vanderbilt oil tender, short haul coal tender, or slope-back switcher tender). • Die-cast chassis. • Operating see-through drive wheels with spokes. • Metal siderods. • Blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours on locomotive. • Wire-free drawbar connection between locomotive and tender. • Magnetically operated E-Z Mate® Mark II coupler on the rear of the tender. • Performs best on 18" radius curves or greater. • Product Measurements: L 8.75 in., W 1.5 in., H 2 in.
