First developed in the second half of the 20th Century, Hi-Cube Box Cars were designed with higher ceilings to increase the per-car capacity of freight trains and to allow for the loading of larger items. The cars depicted by our models were a common sight on US railroads between the late 1960s and 1990s, however, the use of Hi-Cube Box Cars has steadily increased in the 21st Century. Features include: • Detailed, painted bodies with precision graphics • Two unique body styles; outside braced with corrugated door, or riveted sides with plug door • Detailed underframe • Separately applied brake wheel • Added weight for optimum tracking • Body-mounted magnetically operated E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers • Detailed trucks with see-through sideframes • Blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours • Product Measurements: L 4.3 in., W 0.8 in., H 1.1 in. • Retail Package Measurements: L 6.4 in., W 1.3 in., H 2.5 in. N scale rolling stock from Bachmann Trains.
